The primary purpose of the facility is to provide additional storage to augment Belfield. A secondary role as part of our disaster plan is to spread the archive over several sites. This will be a medium-to-long-term project as our policy is for any items stored at Granville to be fully databased in the MOSAiC collection management computer system first.

About us

Formerly the headquarters of 7th Parramatta Extension Group, considerable catch-up maintenance is required following the Group's closure ten years ago. A ceiling and compactus shelving are being installed, and emergency egress is also being improved. These works are dependent on grant funding so the upgrade is being phased over several years. When complete, with our archives secured, the building will once again be made available for community use in addition to serving as the headquarters of Scout Heritage NSW.

Granville is our workshop where displays can be prepared for exhibition elsewhere. In time we will house the heritage trailer at Granville and the Mobile Heritage team will be based here.

All meetings of the Heritage Management Committee are held at Granville, as is the annual general meeting of the Scout Heritage Fellowship each April. There is plenty of onsite and on-street parking available.
